Common FAQs

Q: How long have you been a photographer?

A: Photography has been part of my life since childhood, starting with an early love of shooting on 35mm film. That passion led me to study photography and graphic design in college, where I began shaping what would become my career. I photographed my first wedding in 2006 and have been working continuously in the industry ever since.

Over the years, what began as a creative interest has grown into a career rooted in experience, consistency, and a deep love of documenting meaningful moments. I’m beyond grateful to do work that allows me to capture and celebrate my clients on one of the most important days of their lives.

Q: How many weddings have you photographed?

A: I’ve photographed well over 500 weddings as the lead photographer and more than 800 portrait sessions. With close to twenty years in the industry, I bring a calm, experienced approach to every wedding day and a strong understanding of how to document it thoughtfully and efficiently.

Q: Do I need a second photographer?

A: Not every wedding requires a second photographer, and I’m very comfortable photographing a wedding on my own. That said, there are situations where adding one simply makes logistical sense.

During our initial consultation, we’ll walk through a rough timeline of your day together and talk through what coverage will best serve you. A second photographer can be especially helpful with overlapping moments, larger guest counts, or when you’d like multiple perspectives during parts of the day like the ceremony.

My goal is to recommend what actually fits your wedding, not to add coverage you don’t need.

Q: Do I need an engagement session?

A: It really depends on what you want out of the experience. Engagement photos can be used for save-the-dates, invitations, your wedding website or registry, guest books, framed prints for your guest table or bar, and around your home. They’re also great for sharing with friends and family.

Beyond the photos themselves, an engagement session gives you a chance to get comfortable in front of the camera before the wedding day and helps us get to know each other a bit. That familiarity can make a big difference when everything feels fast-paced on the wedding day. I personally recommend it, not because it’s “required,” but because it adds to the overall experience of being engaged. It’s one of the few times in this process that’s just about the two of you, without a timeline attached.

Q: What kind of equipment do you use?

A: I shoot with Sony mirrorless cameras and their top-of-the-line G Master lenses. My cameras have dual memory card slots, which means every image is recorded to two cards at the same time. Card failures are rare, but I don’t leave anything to chance when it comes to your wedding photos.

I also come fully prepared with professional lighting, modifiers, and backup equipment so I can handle whatever the day throws at us and still deliver consistent, high-quality images.

Q: Do you offer any albums, prints, canvases, guest books, etc?

A: Yes, I do offer prints, canvases, albums, and custom guest books. I intentionally wait until after your gallery is delivered so you can see your images in full before deciding what you’d like to invest in.

All print orders can be placed directly through your online gallery, and albums and guest books are designed collaboratively to ensure the final piece feels timeless and personal. Everything is created with longevity in mind, so what you choose is something you’ll be proud to display and pass down.

Q: Do you offer payment plans?

A: Yes, I do offer payment plans. A $500 retainer is due at booking, with the remaining balance due two weeks before your wedding day. If spreading payments out leading up to the wedding is more comfortable, I’m happy to set up a schedule that works for you once the retainer is in place.

Q: what happens if you have an emergency on our wedding day?

A: In the extremely unlikely event of an emergency that prevents me from being there personally, I have a vetted network of trusted professional photographers with comparable shooting and editing styles who can step in seamlessly. I would remain involved in overseeing your coverage and the final images.

In over ten years of photographing weddings full time, I’ve never missed a wedding or arrived late. Your day is handled with care, planning, and backup at every level.

Q: How do I book you for my wedding day?

A: Booking is simple. To officially reserve your wedding date, a signed contract and a $500 retainer are required. Once that’s completed, you’ll have access to your private client portal where everything is kept in one place, including your contract, invoice, communication, and print release. From there, I handle the rest so the process stays organized and easy for you.
